NBA trade rumors, latest updates: Boston Celtics’s David Lee not very concerned if traded
NBA trading rumors regarding Boston Celtics are at its zenith. There are reports that the Boston Celtics may be looking forward to put David Lee in the trading block. To many people, the rumor may seem a bit surprising as it was only this year when he came to the team.
It was only months ago when 6 feet-nine inches tall David Lee was traded to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Gerald Wallace and Chris Babb. He had been with the Golden State Warriors and had seen his role diminishing considerably. He made his debut for the Celtics in the team’s season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 28, recording 8 points and 5 rebounds as a starter in a 112–95 win.
In the meantime a report by the TNT analyst David Aldridge for NBA.com says that the issue has been caused by “minutes problem,” wherein Lee was affected the most. Another issue pointed out by the analyst is the fact that David Lee’s contract is going to expire pretty soon.
A report in the NJ.Com says, “Lee, 32, has averaged 7.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 25 games. His 16.2 minutes per game are a low since his rookie season for the 2005-06 Knicks…Lee got a rare start on Monday due to injuries to Johnson (plantar fasciitis in left foot) and Sullinger (back spams) and contributed 13 points and eight rebounds in a 113-99 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves…It wasn’t that long ago that Lee was a dominant force inside, as he was an All-Star in 2012-13 playing for Golden Stateâ€.
On the other hand Lee seems to be ready for the eventuality. Lee who is currently averaging 14.4 points and 9.3 rebounds says “I can choose to be frustrated by it or I can choose to make the most out of my time and make a positive contribution and find a way to do it in different waysâ€.
