Muslim University launches newsletter edited and run by students

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd) recently launched a monthly newsletter, ‘Connect-Ink’. The newspaper, which was launched in the Office of the Vice Chancellor is edited and run by AMU students.

During the launch, General Shah appreciated the efforts of the students and wished them for a bright future.

On the occasion, General Shah added that his dream of making AMU, the best university of the country can be only fulfilled with the joint efforts of students and university administration.

Meanwhile, Mr Sharjeel Usmani, one of the founders of the newsletter added that the Vice Chancellor is supportive of these initiatives by students. Mr Sharjeel later talked about burning issues related to students in the university campuses during the launch.

“Our criticism of the administration in the university run newsletters has been taken in a positive way by the Vice Chancellor,” said Mr Usmani adding that the Vice Chancellor is open to ideas by students through newsletters and other constructive ways.
