Nahan: The renowned play back singer of Indian film industry Mohit Chauhan who hails from this hilly town of the Himachal Pardesh has dedicated his film fare award to parents & the people of Himachal. Interacting with NVO News over the phone from Mumbai. Mohit said that Deavbhomi had given him a lot & he would like to dedicate this award to people of the state and like to thank A.R. Rahman who gave him the chance to sing MUSAK ALI MATAK Ali in Delhi-6.
Mohit awarded best play back singer (Male) of the year 2009 in 55th Film fare award on late evening of 27th February at Mumbai. With Mohit Chauhan other nominees for the award were Atif Aslam-Tu Janne Na (Ajab prem ki Ghazab kahani), Javed ali and Kailash Kher-Arziyan(Delhi-6), Rahat Fateh Ali Khan-Aaj din chadaya (love Aaj Kal), Sukhwinder Singh and Vishal Dadlani-Dhan te nan(Kaminey) and Sonu Nigam and Salim merchant-Shukran allah (Kurbaan). The winner of Film fare award Mohit Chauhan also said that although he received several text messages of the congratulations but the message of noted film star Anil Kapoor was significant for him. He said that he is planning to visit his native place in 1-2 months during which he would bring this award with him so that it could be shared with parents as well as people of Himachal. The nominees for the awards were chosen through audience poll. An equal weight age was given to polling results as well as a specially appointed panel of judges. I don’t think Bollywood is my ultimate destination, I believe it’s a part of my journey. Today I sing songs in films, tomorrow I might collaborate with somebody else, it’s all different colors and different hues of your artistic expression and without anything actually being a destination,” Mohit told HT during the interaction over the phone. He also said that when he sings he also try to make the songs in his own way.
Mohit Chauhan had also won other awards Aapasra and radio mirchi, Film fare award was his third consecutive award for him in this year. During the 55th film award ceremony film actress Salina Jaietly and actor Chunky Pandey were called on the stage by Sharukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan to give away the award to Mohit Chauhan. Mohit also informed that he missed his parents during the award ceremony and said that he was little bit hopeful for the award. The delighted residents of the town Ashutosh Gupta, Rajesh Parmar alias Neelu and Chander Mohan Sharma said that it was landmark achievement of the son of the Himachal and it was unbelievable that men can rule over the film industry.
On the other hand delighted parents Krishana Rana and B.K Rana of the Mohit said that although they were hopeful that once Mohit would bring laurel for the state but he would do quickly it was not hoped, they added. Mrs. Krishana Rana (Mother) said that once during the study Mohit was also selected for acting but his father did not allow him because of his studies. She disclosed that Mohit is very fond of flying kites. They said that Mohit immediacy called them after receiving the award from Mumbai. The brother Rohit Chauhan who is a senior officer in excise and taxation officer said that the all credit goes to hard work and wishes of the people and admirers.
Although it is not confirmed but as per as the information Mohit chauhan is the first Himachali to win Film fare award in play back singing so far. The first winner of this prestigious award was Mukesh Kumar for Sab Kuch Seekha humane in 1960, Kumar Sanu hold the record for winning award consecutively from 1991 to 1995.
