Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile Upgrade coming soon: What you need to know
If rumors are to be believed, Microsoft’s Windows 10 mobile upgrade is coming pretty soon. Though this ‘coming soon’ status seems to be continuing for the last several weeks, nonetheless there are enough indications that the Redmond based tech giant is set to release the update now.
To be true, the software giant was expected to launch the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade early last month. Nonetheless the year ended on a sore note for the Microsoft Mobile fans as the company didn’t launch the update.
Now there are reports doing the rounds that the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade for the Lumia smartphones will be launched in January. Nonetheless despite the fact that four days have passed there is no trade of it till now.
Nonetheless despite repeated assurances the Redmond based tech giant hasn’t given a final date of the Windows 10 Mobile update.
In the meantime Vodafone Australia has said they are expecting to receive the update by mid-January, Movistar Spain expects it to release it by the end of January 2016.
In the meantime there are more clues about the upgrade. Two days ago a Lumia user asked Microsoft on its support page on Twitter,†if windows 10 upgrade will be available for Microsoft Lumia 535?†@LumiaHelp replied, “We’re working to make Windows 10 available to eligible Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8.1 as an upgrade.â€
On the other hand there are reasons to believe that all Windows Mobile users will not get the upgrade. The company’s support says that only Lumia devices running Windows 8.1 are eligible for the update. These handsets also should have at least 8GB of internal memory. The not-so-good news is that on its support page, has also confirmed that the devices will not support all Windows 10 features after updating.
