Microsoft Windows 10 beats previous MS operating systems: How it is beating the odds

Microsoft seems to be over excited as far as its new Operating System version is concerned. The Redmond based software giant has said that its Windows 10 OS is actually the fastest growing operating system ever.

In the last few months since the launch of Windows 10 there have been around 200 million installs of the new OS version across the world and the company says that there is no trend that shows its demand slowing down a bit.

A statement from the Redmond-based tech giant said that right now more than 200 million devices per month are running Windows 10. The company went on to add that the new operating system is on its “fastest growth trajectory” of any OS it’s ever shipped.windows10

There is no denying the fact that this is a massive number. Nonetheless the company has great expectations. Microsoft has said that it expects more than a billions Windows 10 installs within a year’s time.

Nonetheless others suggest that Windows 10 hasn’t touched 200 million mark as yet. Third-party firms had claimed that Microsoft’s Windows 10 powered about 165 million PCs, or 10 percent of the market, by the end of 2015. This is around 35 million less than what Redmond based tech giant claims.

On the other hand the software giant said Monday that Windows 10’s growth outpaced Windows 8 by nearly 400 percent—as well as the earlier, much loved Windows 7 by 140 percent.

While talking about it Yusuf Mehdi, the corporate vice president responsible for Windows and Windows devices said, “We continue to be excited—and humbled—by the incredible response to Windows 10… We are even more excited that these customers are loving Windows 10…Overall, we are seeing significantly higher customer satisfaction with Windows 10 than any prior version of Windows.”

In the meantime a report in PC Wolrd says that Microsoft is on a roll. “Microsoft also said that customers had asked 30 percent more queries of Bing per Windows 10 device versus prior versions of Windows—not that surprising, as Bing is the default search engine for Cortana and Edge. Over 82 billion photos have been viewed using the Photos app, Microsoft added, and gamers spent 4 billion hours playing PC games—streaming 6.6 million hours of Xbox One games to the PC, to boot. In fact, Microsoft claimed that 2015 was the best year in Xbox’s history, in terms of engagement and overall sales”, says it.
