Rumors about the eventual arrival of Microsoft Band 2 were doing the rounds for the last several weeks. Now there are signs that the software giant is expected to launch the Microsoft Band 2 in the first week of October.
The company is holding a much awaited event on this coming 6th October where Microsoft is expected to introduce several new products. There are telltale signs that the Microsoft Band 2 will also be showcased to the world on this same date.
In the meantime Microsoft Band 2 images have appeared on several tech news sites. The software giant, in the meantime, has neither accepted nor rejected the rumors thus far.
It has been confirmed that the company is set to showcase several high-profile products during its forthcoming media event scheduled for Oct. 6. Reports suggest that Microsoft will showcase much awaited tablet Surface Pro 4 besides two smartphones including Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones.
As far as design of the Microsoft Band 2 is concerned, there are rumors doing the rounds that Microsoft has decided to stick mostly to the original Band’s design, with one major difference. The Band 2 seems to be coming with curved display that will make it easier for the fitness tracker to hug its wearer’s wrist, at the same time giving it a nice, aesthetic oomph that wasn’t in the original Band.
Some of the images that have appeared on one Spanish language tech blog suggest that it is coming with metallic finish around the display, possibly to give the device a more premium look. Some other reports claim that the software giant is adding a couple of buttons on the side of the display to help users navigate the device’s elongated display more easily.
As far as pricing of the new band is concerned, the company is yet to speak on the issue. The original Band launched at $199, a fairly steep price compared to other devices offering the same functionality. Will Microsoft price its new band higher?
