Aligarh: The Office of the Controller of Examinations, Aligarh Muslim University held a meeting in the Conference Room of the Administrative Block under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd) to discuss the matters relating to continuation/re-admission in same and higher classes.

During the meeting, AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (retd); Registrar, Dr Asfar Ali Khan; Finance Officer, Prof S M Jawed Akhtar; Controller of Examinations Prof Javaid Akhtar along with deans, principals and coordinators of various AMU faculties and departments decided the classes for the academic session 2015-16 shall commence form August 3, 2015 except the university schools where classes will be in form the date of re-opening of the schools.

They have also decided August 12, 2015 as the last date of dues/fees deposition for continuation/re-admission in the next year. However, if a candidate fails to pay the fee before the deadline, there will be a fine of Rs 500 till August 20. The candidates paying fees in between August 20 and 31 will have to pay a fine of Rs 1000.

The university officials have further decided that students will not be given continuation/re-admission in departments where 25 percent classes have already been held after reopening of the university.

However, it was decided that the concerned Deans/Principals/Coordinators will allow continuation/re-admission of students whose results were not declared without late fee upto three days from the date of declaration of result and their attendance will be counted accordingly.

While attendance of the students seeking continuation/re-admission will be computed from the date of commencement of classes, the attendance of foreign students and sports persons will be computed from the date of their continuation/re-admission.

It has been decided that the students will have to submit an undertaking regarding attendance before the Vice Chancellor at the time of continuation/re-admission in the respective Dean’s/Principal’s/Coordinator’s office.

After the last date of completion of Admission/Continuation, a roll list of newly admitted students/continuation cases in next higher class as well as the same class will be provided on both soft and hard copy indicating main, subsidiary and compulsory papers.

The adoption of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) was deliberated at length and the University officials agreed to implement it from the Academic Session 2015-16.
