It was the one-sided show that Filipino boxer’s fans across the world were waiting. Who won the fight? Manny Pacquiao vs Brandon Rios full fight highlights (video)

It was a fight that many said that could go both ways and so fans of both the fighters were bracing for the worst. Even many fans of Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao, were fearing for the worst as everyone was predicting doom for him.

They said that the last two fights that went against him had taken the sheen out of him and had destroyed his confidence in himself and his fighting prowess. Many others said that he had also grown old only in a single year since the loss of his last fight. They simply forgot that the reigning champion in the boxing right now Floyd Mayweather jr was a year older than Manny Pacquiao.

But today the champion boxer proved everyone wrong by coming up with impressive show of attack and defense. His speed was almost as good as throughout the last one decade and proved everyone wrong in more ways than one. He was quick and took some good shots in his stride proving once again that he had not actually retained his power but he also carried a very strong chin.

There is no doubt that Manny Pacquiao is a real champion who is very realistic and down to earth, two traits that are not usually found in boxers. He is a multi-dimensional personality and a great crowd puller. Besides boxing he is as much versatile in music as in the ring and is also an elected member of the Philippine Senate. Today he was in his best form and proved to the world that despite two back to back losses neither he lost his firepower nor his speed. Everything was as good as it used to be and he made Brandon Rios as a punching bag and didn’t lose even a single round to the man was past his prime. His dominant performance began from the very beginning of the fight that was dubbed as the comeback fight of the champion and he remained on top throughout.

The fight in Macau that got great media attention across the world was a complete Manny Pacquiao show all the way as the thousands of boxing fans who were there continued to chant “Manny! Manny!” throughout the fight. They will be silent only when Rios went on rare offensives. The dominance of Manny Pacquiao began from the word go as soon as the fight started. He started the offensive very early in the fight. In round one, many started the attack after testing Rios with a few light punches. In second round, though Rios has some success with body shots, but later it was Pacquiao who started back and after being roped gives three left hands from Pacman, one left hook lands. In round three both the fighter try to attack each other. Rios too has some luck, but like the previous round, Pacquiao again goes on the offensive with his favoured left hand.

I must admit that prior to the fight, the sort of assertions that Brandon Rios and his team made were simply to get the media attention as it was completely focussed at Manny. Brandon Rios had made a wrong assessment of Manny as this doesn’t seem to be the same beaten man whom he had watched on the mat with his face down. He is an altogether different man. Manny hits a great right to the body and then a lovely popping left from Pacquiao, and no let up in the pace of the fight. Pacman now making life difficult for his challenger. Then the whole fight continued in the same manner and the Filipino wins the fight in a very impressive manner. So the champion is back with a bang.
