Live update: 10 killed as BSF plane crashes in Dwarka, hits a wall, Rajnath Singh rushes to the site
New Delhi (22 Dec, 2015): All the ten 10 BSF troopers who were onboard a chartered plane headed to Ranchi were killed as it crashed in Delhi merely minutes after taking off. Delhi has been experiencing heavy fog these days and though thus far no reason has been attributed to the crash, it may be one of the reasons.
The chopper hit a wall in the nearby Dwarka area and went up in the flames. It was completely destroyed following the incident. Fire officials while making the announcement said â€œAll 10 Border Security Force troopers have been killedâ€.
Latest reports suggest that the crash took place at Shahabad village in Dwarka area of the national capital where the Beechcraft Super King plane collided into a house and caught fire. Twenty fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
In a tweet, the Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, â€œThe tragic news of the BSF plane crash near the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi is extremely painful. Rushing to the crash site immediatelyâ€.
