Pakistan vs South Africa match has just begun. This will be very interesting game and both the teams have begun well. South Africa after seeing its openers flounder in the beginning of the last game are not prepared to give up the same way they did against India. No one was able to come with a match winning knock and they are not ready to repeat the same in this must win match against Pakistan whom they have beaten in the previous one day international series. But then Pakistan comprehensively beat them in the warm up game and so both the teams are on equal footing.

But both the teams have their strengths and weaknesses. Despite the presence of some quality bowlers South African bowling in the match against India was lackluster. The same was true when it came to batting. But the last match’s performance may be an aberration. They possess one of the best batting lineup in the world of cricket these days and these batsmen have proved time and again that they perform in the crunch time.

Pakistan on the other hand have the best bowling attack in the world right now. They have the best spinners led by Saeed Ajmal and their pace attack like always is exceptional. There is no doubt about it and they continue to churn out top class bowlers. It is amazing to see so many talented boys in Pakistani pace attack when their top bowlers like Amir, Asif, Umar Gul are not around. While Amir and Asif are facing ban, Gul has not been included in the side.

But obviously they haven’t played like tournament favorite as many were calling them. A reader says, “This is going to be an interesting one. For many people Pakistan were pre-tournament favourites, but they had a very poor day against the West Indies. South Africa, shorn of their stars just look poor. You would expect Pakistan to set things right today with a big win but, being Pakistan, anything can happen”. This cannot be more true in case of Pakistan.
