The smart-phone marketing is getting more and more competitive. LG Optimus G is set to compete with Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 5 in India

LG Optimus G has set its foot in India after a rather long wait. While its latest version Optimus G Pro makes waves in international market thanks to its great specs and futuristic looks, Indian consumers have to do with its older peer. With introductory price of Rs 34,500 the handset looks a bit pricier, but is undoubtedly very competitive to other existing top handsets including Galxy S3 and iPhone 5.

The handset comes with everything good and it is sure to attract many people who especially like to go for handsets with great specs accompanied by high quality camera. For a lay man the lure of a 13 mega pixel camera may be substantial and may play a part in deciding as to which handset to go for. So with similar specs, higher mega pixel camera may be deciding factor for a consumer wishing to decide between market leader Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and LG’s Optimus G.

Samsung’s Galaxy S3 comes with similar specs and features. Both come with almost same size, Galaxy S3 comes with 4.8 inch screen while LG Optimus G comes with 4.7 inch screen and rather good display. Optimus G resolution is slightly better at 1280×768 compared to 1280×720 of Galaxy S3. Both come with quad core processor, though Optimus G seems to be slightly more powerful compared to its Sammy peer.

When it comes to RAM, LG Optimus G has 2 GB RAM while Galaxy S3 has one 1GB of RAM. Both come with 16 and 32 GB internal storage, but while Galaxy S3 has support for MicroSD card slot upto 64 GM, Optimus G is devoid of a MicroSD card.

But Galaxy S3 is not the only handset that will get in the way of Optimus G in India. Apple’s iPhone 5 is still going strong here. Apple is selling the handset on monthly installments and this has spiked its demand. Though on the pricier side by around Rs 10000, the fact that one can go for it by paying a small down payment of Rs 10000, will make the competition all the more difficult. Apple’s latest iteration of iPhone being called iPhone 5 is a superb smart-phone that is being sold like hot-cake since its launch less than two months ago. Everyone is unanimous that Apple’s new iPhone 5 looks great and its 4 inch display isn’t really too big. The new machine has speedier innards, thanks to a new A6 chip designed by Apple. The chip is twice as fast in terms of CPU and graphics, he said. “Not only is it a jump forward in performance, it’s 22 percent smaller.” The roomier screen of the iPhone 5, which has 40 percent more colour saturation, can be used by apps makers to provide most accurate display in the industry. Its width is just right for navigating with one’s thumb, Schiller said, to make it easy to send text messages, swipe through pages and browse the Web. The three handsets are set to intensify the competition in the market.
