LG G4 first impressions: New LG handset too pricey in India despite all its positives

This is one of the best smartphones launched in the market and there is a sort of enthusiasm among LG and Android fans to get hold of it. Indian launch has come far too late.

It seems many moons ago when the handset was showcased, but it has been launched in the Indian market only now. It is disappointing to note that while many top Android smartphone makers launch their wares in the country simultaneously or a few days later after international launch, LG delayed the launch so far.

LG G4, the Korean tech giant’s latest flagship was launched in the Indian market two days ago in Mumbai’s NSCI Sports Complex. The handset comes with stunning features and a mesmerizing and sexy body that may put your heart racing.

There is no denying the fact that the handset is cool. The buttons are placed on the rear side of the handset. The power/standby button placed in the centre is encircled by the volume rocker buttons.LG G4

When it comes to display LG G4 comes with IPS Quantum display measuring 5.5-inch. The bezels at the top as well as bottom are thin. The colours look bright and pixelation is not seen at all. The text also looks crisp. Overall, the display appears quite impressive.

As far as processor is concerned, it is a beast. The smartphone is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with a dual-core ARM Cortex A57 and quad-core A53 with processor with 64-bit support and houses Adreno 418 GPU. The processor is coupled with 3GB RAM. It has a built-in storage capacity of 32GB out of which about 20.4GB can be availed by the user. The company has also added a microSD card slot.

As far as operating system is concerned, the LG G4 device is powered by Android 5.1 OS and you will also get LG’s custom UX 4.0 skin over and above the Android OS. The dual sim phone features a Qualcomm X10 LTE chipset for 4G LTE SIM cards. As far as connectivity is concerned, you will get Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS and Wi-fi 802.11ac along with the regular sensors. It also includes a colour spectrometer sensor.

There is no denying the fact that the handset comes with impressive rear and front facing cameras. The LG G4 smartphone comes with a 16MP back camera with laser-detect auto focus feature. The right side of the device has a colour spectrum sensor and a LED flash unit whereas the left side has a laser AF port. It has an 8MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and supports gesture based shooting. The device enables you to save the pictures clicked in the manual mode in the RAW format. In addition to this, the video camera can shoot 4K videos. It comes with a powerful 3000 mAh Lithium ion non removable battery.
