Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2; price rumored to be under $800


    Lenovo’s much-touted Windows 8 ThinkPad Tablet 2 is reportedly to go for a price of $799, reports the WP Central. The Chinese tech maker is to set off its 10.1-inch tablet on October 26, the same day Microsoft is to make Windows 8 official. Until now, the gadget was expected to come for a price between $600 and $700. The price is to cover full keyboard and Office 2012 Suite, the sources said. Microsoft’s Surface Pro is also expected to arrive with a price up to $800.

    Early last month, Lenovo revealed that it would release the ThinkPad Tablet 2 on the same day Microsoft planned to release Windows 8. The device is to come with a keyboard, Office Suite 2012 and optional dock. “The price apparently includes the keyboard as well as a full Office 2013 suite. The bad news is that it’s not clear whether the optional dock – packed with a HDMI out port, three USB ports, and an Ethernet port – are included in the price,” writes Tech Radar.

    The Lenovo tablet is to feature a 10.1-inch WXGA touchscreen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The device will be powered by an Intel dual core Clover Trail CPU, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard memory. The gadget is to come up with lots of amazing connectivity features that include HSPA+/LTE, optional NFC, fingerprint reading, Mini HDMI, USB 2.0 ports and microSD slot for memory expansion.

Under the hood, the device will mount an Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor and 64GB/128GB internal memories. Of course, the device will be larger and weightier than the new Lenovo tablet. The device will weigh at 903 grams and will have a thickness of 13.5mm. You can enjoy microSDXC, USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort, 2×2 MIMO antennae and many other features on the handset.
