Lamar Odom illness update: His condition saves him from a sure prosecution
After more than one and half month of being found comatose and barely clinging to life, Lamar Odom remains in hospital and his health condition remains precarious.
His motoring skills were badly compromised following more than a dozen heart attacks and his kidneys had stopped functioning. Though kidney seems to be working fine, but the impact on motoring skill has left him unable to walk or talk properly. Chewing the food and eating it is also an ordeal of sorts for him.
His estranged wife Khloe Kardashian earlier added to the anxiety of millions of Lamar Odom fans when she claimed he was also suffering from memory loss and that the athlete was unable to recognize many friends. Though the issue was never talked about by anyone else after that, the confusion about his condition remains intact.
In the meantime his legal woes are improving as the TMZ says he will not face charges for the cocaine possession that lead to his hospitalization. Earlier hospital reports suggested that the former NBA star was found with the narcotic in a blood sample after his dramatic collapse. He was in a Nevada brothel where he was popping herbal Viagra pills and getting the company of hookers. He ran a bill of as much as $80000. It is still unclear if the bill has been cleared by him or not.
There were rumors that Lamar’s case would be handed over to Nevada’s NYE County District Attorney with the possibility of the basketball ace facing jail time. Nye County District Attorney Angela Bello said in a statement, “The Nye County Sheriff’s Office has asked the Nye County District Attorney’s Office to review a request for prosecution against Lamar Odom for Use of, or Under the Influence of, a Controlled Substance…The DA’s office will take the time needed to appropriately review that request, along with all evidence that might support that request, in order to reach a just conclusion regarding whether to advance charges.”
Now it has been said that he is getting sympathy of officials due to his mental state and medical condition. After TMZ reviewed historic cases in NYE County is became clear that nobody had been prosecuted for cocaine possession after being hospitalised with a serious condition. The website suggests that with Lamar’s current situation it would be questionable if he was physically capable of standing trial. It is needless to say that it is a welcome step indeed.
