Finally the gunman who was behind the Louisiana movie theater shooting and the macabre killing has been identified. Amazingly this man is not a teenager or a young twenty-something, but an aged man of 59 years. The shooter has been identified as John Russel Houser of Alabama.

The shooting of the Thursday night inside a packed movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana, yesterday had shocked the entire nation. The way the number of bizarre shooting cases are going up seems to have made almost everyone very unsure about the personal safety here in the US.

Meanwhile police have confirmed that as many as nine people were injured in the shooting and that one person is in critical condition.

While talking at a press conference Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said that it is apparent he was intent on shooting and escaping before police forced him back into the theater where he shot himself to death.

He had parked his blue Lincoln Continental at the exit of the theater to run away from the scene as fast as possible. Police also found wigs and glasses in his car and motel room, Craft said. The shooting occurred at the Grand 16 Theater on Johnston Street where a screening of Amy Schumer’s “Trainwreck” was playing, according to the Associated Press. Conditions of those injured range from non-life-threatening to critical and their ages ranged from the late teens to their 60s, Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said at a news conference.
