This must be a major relief for him and his fans. Kyle Lohse Milwaukee Brewers $33 million contract has finally been signed. Here are pictures, video

A three-year contract worth $33 million was completed on Monday and this has given a major boost to Kyle Lohse with Brewers suspecting rotation exactly a week before the season opener at home against Colorado. Lohse waited all winter and finally found a home with Milwaukee.

Lohse was reported as saying that, “I’m really happy to be able to come over. With this offense and the ability of their pitching staff, it looks like a good fit. I know everybody in the division.”

In 2012, the best season in the majors was enjoyed by Lohse. He managed to earn an NL wild-card spot for St. Louis Cardinals going 16-3 with a 2.86 ERA.

The 34-year-old had to take an entire off-season in an attempt to find a new team. This happened when the right-hander hit the free-agent market.

In November, he had turned down a $13.3 million qualifying offer from the Cardinals. A first-round draft pick was to be forfeited if most major league clubs wanted to sign him. Hesitation set in apparently among the potential suitors due to this.

Lohse’s agent, Scott Boras, said that all major leagues were getting affected with a system being in place. Many were getting affected with this like major league players, development and a lot of people were being prevented from doing their jobs effectively, particularly organizations like this who rely on development.

He added that a free will should be given for signing up free agents if they wish and also develop. If this gets re-examined then baseball will be benefitted.

Brewers needed a reliable starter and this is what has made them a better club than what they were yesterday.

All-Star right-hander Yovani Gallardo is joined by Lohse at the top of the rotation and the remaining players remain unproven. These players are Marco Estrada, Mike Fiers, Chris Narveson and Wily Peralta.

About Kyle, it was added, he is coming off two very good years and his experience and competitiveness will be welcomed by the club.

In this year’s amateur draft Milwaukee gave up the 17th overall pick in order to land Lohse. Lohse had made 33 starts last year for the Cardinals. Cardinals is Milwaukee’s division rivals in the NL Central.

In the Cy Young Award voting, he managed to finish seventh. In the winning percentage, he was first in the league and held opponents to a career-best .239 batting average.

Lohse is getting his arm in shape for the game and for this his debut for Milwaukee could be delayed until mid-April. According to the Brewers, Lohse would start the regular season on the active roster.

Lohse had stated that he was confident about something working out. He added that what he did not know was that this would take so long.

Lohse said that the team he was on was a great team and the situation was just apt for him to be in it.
