It earned Rs 23 crore on day 2 after Rs 25 crore on day 1 and so Krrish 3 vs Chennai Express box office collection war continues. Report says that film is going to be among the highest grosser.

The movie is being praised by both film reviewers and moviegoers. Though I am more concerned with the filmgoers’ impression as they are the most deciding factor of a film’s success nonetheless good rating by reviewers help get some footfalls initially.  This is the reason that the film seems to be getting impressive response in theatres across the country filing up the coffers of the filmmakers and also theatre owners. The film’s day one collection at the box office was simply huge at Rs 25 crore. It must be among the highest in the Bollywood’s history.

But the second day’s collection instead of going up dipped slightly, though it was still very high at Rs 23 crore. So two day’s collection of the film was pretty impressive at Rs 48 crore. But if you thought that the film was the highest grosser at the box office or that there was any chance of it becoming the highest, it simply doesn’t look so. Shah Rukh Khan’s film Chennai Express was simply in a different class altogether as far as its box office collection was concerned. Its first three days box office collection had crossed Rs 100 crore and not a single day in the first weekend the collection went below Rs 300 crore.

But the film is simply awesome. Tired of the firangi superheroes that have continued to play with our fantasies for long now, the Indians welcomed their first desi superhero, completely homegrown in India, with open arms. Krrish 3, a film directed and produced by   Rakesh Roshan, boasts of some high voltage special effects coupled with daredevil actions sequences.

A third instalment after Koi Mil gaya and Krrish., the film sees Hrithik Roshan return as the superhero who is out to save the world. In the movie, Vivek Oberoi plays Kaal, the villain, while Kangana Ranaut a mutant and Priyanka Chopra the wife of Krishna or Krrish.

Stating that the  film has got  stupendous opening Deepak Sharma, COO of PVR Pictures, said: “The film has got “great opening and it’s going to be a blockbuster”. The advance booking is as good as it was for Chennai Express and opened like that all across India. Once holiday starts it will do amazing business. It can be in the league of Rs.200 crore. Going by morning show, it’s looking good.”

Believed to be made at a huge budget of Rs.100-Rs.150 crore, Krrish 3 was released in 3,500 screens. Red Chillies VFX, a subdivision of Shah Rukh’s motion picture production banner Red Chillies Entertainment, worked on the special effects worth Rs.26 crore for Krrish 3.

Going by the figures, the movie touched post its release, Trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted: “Krrish 3 oven-fresh news: Nagpur opening great: Sangam Cinema 16636; Inox Poonam 27838; Inox Jaswant 16786;Cinemax 1st show 37229, 2nd show 31548. Krrish 3 opening in Bihar circuit crazy. Most cinemas report, all shows full in advance. Such madness rarely seen. And this is pre-Diwali!.”
