Kanye West ‘Famous’ song: Kim Kardashian Snapchat video gets fiery response from Taylor Swift
Kim Kardashian created a stir by launching a series of videos on Snapchat showing her husband and rapper Kanye west talking to the recording artist Taylor Swift. The two seem to be talking in a very friendly manner for a very long time.
No one can actually infer from that chatter that the two were talking on such a serious issue that snowballed into a major controversy later.
Taylor Swift, one of the biggest names in the country music and Kanye West, one of the biggest names in music at the moment fought bitterly over West’s now (in)famous song “Famous”. Taylor Swift had called the song offensive and misogynist and said that Kanye West never talked to her before releasing the song.
Earlier this year Taylor Swift opened a war against Kanye West over the lyrics of the song. During West’s fashion show/album drop live event at Madison Square Garden, he dropped a verse about having sex with Swift someday, because he believes he made her famous:
The lyrics of the song went like this
“ I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex
Why? I made that bitch famous
I made that bitch famous”
Kanye West’s socialite wife has given a new twist to the controversy that had erupted in February this year. The series of videos on Snapchat shows West talking to Taylor Swift on the phone about his song “Famous”.
Swift can be clearly heard in the videos as saying “I really appreciate you telling me about it. That’s really nice,” she says. “It’s all very tongue-in-cheek either way.”
In her broadside against West in February Swift had said “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”
Nonetheless the Snapchat videos show that he had indeed talked to her. She had also called him misogynist. “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there will be people along the way who will try to undercut your success…Or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame”, she had said.
