Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ box office world collection is Rs100 crore, 2015’s top filmÂ
Kangana Ranaut’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns shows that women too can drive the box office crazy. It also shows that you don’t always need Salman, Shahrukh, Hrithik Roshan or Aamir Khan to come out with big box office hits.
To be true the film is going to collect Rs 100 crore in its first week itself, thus becoming the biggest hit of the year 2015.
Thus far women centric films have done poorly as some particular sorts of films and the ones dominated by a certain Khan of Roshan can succeed in Indian theaters. With the massive success of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, this wrong perception has been shattered completely.
There is no denying the fact that Aanand L Rai’s directorial venture Tanu Weds Manu Returns is currently completely ruling the box office. Thus far the well-received romantic comedy that has Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan in the lead role has already collected Rs 85.07 crore at the box office and that too in just 9 days flat. On the other hand the overseas box office collection has been impressive too. With the overseas earnings, the collection has crossed the Rs 100 crore crore mark.
While talking about the impressive performance of the movie leading film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the updated box office figures a while back. He wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, “#TanuWedsManuReturns is speeding towards ₹ 100 cr in India [Week 2] Fri 6.65 cr, Sat 9.40 cr. Grand total: 85.07 cr. BLOCKBUSTER.†Coming to the film’s overseas collection, well, Tanu Weds Manu Returns till Saturday had raked in total worldwide Rs 101.67 crore. Adarsh had tweeted, “#TanuWedsManuReturns crosses 100 cr mark! Worldwide [India + Overseas] total: ₹ 101.67 cr. AWESOME!†it is impressive performance indeed.
