Kai Po Che box office collection is soaring rather very fast. The film is already a super hit and making substantial profit

The acceptance in the Hindi film industry that only a high-budget movie with an expensive star cast can create magic at the box office was yet again proved futile by the 12-crore film Kai Po Che! creating ripples not only in the domestic arena but even on the international front.

On the opening day itself, Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che! managed to garner Rs 4.5 crore with an extremely upbeat response.

The movie is an onscreen adaptation of one of Chetan Bhagat’s best sellers ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’. Is it the Chetan Bhagat tag that has proved to be a lucky mascot for the movie or is it the promising star cast comprising the very talented Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav. The movie expresses that it rather is a joint endeavor made by the actors, director and the force behind the movie that was released Friday in 1,000 screens across the country.

UTV Motion Pictures, the production banner of the film, is optimistic about the 12-crore budget movie and feels that this comes as yet another bolt from the blue for those in the film industry who think that a hit is all about spending several crores.

The super box office run was sustained by Kai Po Che even during the weekend that rather proved to be huge for the film that has collected over Rs 25 crores till now. Raking in so much in about three-to-four days time seems like a smashing start for the movie.

The team behind the movie feels that more is in store for the crew and cast of the movie seeing its popularity.

The film released in about 250 screens outside India with 109 in US, 54 in Britain, 35 in Gulf and 12 in Australia has derived quiet some admiration.

On Thursday the movie was released in the Gulf and within two days it collected $170,000 in the region.

Critics and experts feel that the business is bound to grow with the movie’s exceptionally gripping script, highly talented actors and Amit Trivedi’s music that has created a sensation.

The film that portrays the journey of three friends as they discover their myriad interests in the fields of business, cricket and religion is attracting thumping reviews across the world.

The movie was released along side with Zila Ghaziabad starring Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Vivek Oberoi nad took the lead from the very first show.

Saturday and Sunday spelt magic for the film with approximately Rs 18.10 crores nett being collected at the domestic boxoffice. Seeing the break-up, Sunday bagged the maximum for the film with Rs 7.35 crore, Rs 6.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.50 crore on Friday.

The film was expected to see a downturn on weekdays but a rock-steady collection poured in even on weekdays. Monday saw almost equal number of people coming in to buy tickets for the movie as on Sunday. With weekdays collecting Rs 11.4 crores for Kai Po Che! the first week total has totaled to Rs 29.50 crores nett.
