Kabali box office collection shatters every previous record: Sultan BO earnings look minuscule
Rajiniknath’s Kabali is breaking all the box office records since the launch of the movie three days ago. While Salman Khan’s latest film Sultan is still going strong and many people were wondering as to when the film’s huge box office collections will be matched by any other movie, Kabali came fast and suddenly broke all the records from record books.
While there was no doubt that the Rajinikanth Kabali will do extremely well in South India, nonetheless its record breaking success in the North was never expected. There is no denying that it has come as a huge shock to film buffs and has added significantly to Kabali box office earnings.
The film that has failed to get great reviews from critics has been backed solidly by Rajinikanth fans and other film buffs from India to Gulf and United States to UK and Malaysia. The film started breaking the records from the very first day itself. It broke all the previous box office records in India by collecting as much as Rs. 70 crore on day one. Since then the film hasn’t looked back till now.
Nonetheless while it may be true that Kabali did better than Salman Khan’s Sultan box office collections on the day one, it has not managed to overpower SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, which raked in Rs 50 crore on day one, reports Indian Express. Meanwhile the film is doing exceedingly well in North India. Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Kabali, which is receiving enormous response from audiences across India, has minted Rs 11.4 crore in two days in the north Indian market. The Pa. Ranjith directorial, which collected Rs 5.2 crore on its opening day, witnessed a 20 per cent growth on its second day in the north Indian market where it collected Rs 6.2 crore on Saturday, thus taking its cumulative total of Rs 11.4 crore, read a official statement.
In the meantime reports suggest that Kabali’s first weekend box office collection has crossed Rs 200 crore mark. Trade tracker Andhra Box Office in a tweet said, “By early estimates, #Kabali has crossed ? 200 Cr gross @ WW BO for the Opening wknd India – ? 123 Cr Overseas – ? 87 Cr Total – ? 210 Crs. [sic],”.
Another trade analyst confirms the above claim. Trade änalyst Ramesh says “By early estimates, #Kabali has crossed ? 200 Cr gross @ WW BO for the Opening wknd India – ? 123 Cr Overseas – ? 87 Cr Total – ? 210 Crs. [sic]”.
