Joey Feek of Joey + Rory is dead: cause of death ovarian cancer
Joey Martin Feek, a renowned country singer who was part of the two man-woman team Joey + Rory is dead. She was 40.
Joey Feek was called a natural singer and people said she had no fear of stage and always appeared confident at every stage of performance from beginning till end. She was a great talent and was reportedly suffering from cancer for some time. The killer disease was reportedly behind her death at such a young age.
The singer was suffering from ovarian cancer and her fans and family have been praying for her recovery from the disease for months. But their prayers couldn’t come to her rescue. She was half the country music duo Joey + Rory – with her husband, Rory Feek.
Her husband Rory Keek while writing on his blog said, “My wife’s greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven. The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased and all her tears are dry. Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her saviorâ€.
He went on to add “At 2:30 this afternoon, as we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last. And a moment later took her first breath on the other side.”
Her battle with ovarian cancer was no secret. She had battled cancer for nearly two years, on and off. The couple was told Feek was cancer-free after her first surgery in the summer of 2014 – but it returned soon after. After aggressive treatment and another surgery, the cancer kept growing.
