JNMC Prof to attend International Conference on Hematology and Blood Disorder at US

Aligarh: Professor Sayeedul Hasan Arif, Department of Pathology, J N Medical College will attend the ‘3rd International Conference on Hematology and Blood Disorder 2015’ at Atlanta, USA scheduled to take place from November 2 to November 4.

During the conference, Prof Arif will present an oral paper on the advantage of Single Donor Platelet (SDP) over Random Donor Platelet (RDP). He will attend the conference with AMU Sr Dr Suhailur Rehman, who will present an Oral Paper on the ‘Study of transfusion reaction in pediatric patients.’

Prof Arif said that it is hoped that attending this conference will enhance our knowledge in the current concepts of Hematology and blood bank. He also said that we will be back in AMU on November 8 to work afresh with the experience.

Prof Arif, who has been working hard for SDP facilities in AMU, informed that soon, the AMU blood bank will have its own machines for SDP facilities. “These machines are expected to reach AMU Blood Bank in a month’s time,” said Prof Arif.

He added that with these machines, it will be possible to take platelet from single donor which will be equal to 5 – 6 RDP (small 50 ml pack of platelet).
