This is not for the first time that his film is being criticised on the day of launch. Jai Ho movie reviews are not favourable, but its box office collection will be record breaking [VIDEO]
This is a perfect movie for Salman Khan fans and I am sure they are going to do everything to make it the biggest grosser of all time beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express and Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3. To be true they must be very happy to see their star actor come out with a well-meaning film at a time when the record was just created by the Mr perfectionist.
Though Salman Khan is not known as a perfectionist like Aamir Khan, nonetheless when it comes to breaking and establishing records after records he is simply the king. Among the top grossing films in India, bhai has the largest super hits. To be fair all his films in the last four years have been massive hits and the collection of his films has steadily gone up from Rs 100 crore to Rs 200 crore. We must keep in mind that his films were not released in 4000 screens as was the case with Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3. Now when it is also released in so many screens simultaneously there is higher chance of it getting exceptional response.
But like always people have started to label it as a peculiar ‘Salman Khan’ film. They cannot call it flop as Salman Khan has proved them wrong on so many occasions with his stellar performances one after the other. A reporter in Koimoi says, “Sohail Khan’s Jai Ho is a nobly conceived product that disintegrates into a regular Salman Khan affair a la Dabangg with high octane action and irreverent dialogues. It’s bewildering to witness all the Gandhian sermons in a masala fillum but the novelty loses itself in the repetitiveness of its plot”.
To be fair the reviewer in Koimoi is not alone when it comes to calling the film a puer Sallu bhai fan material. Manjusha Radhakrishnan of the Gulf News while says, “The story of Jai Ho is far too simplistic to be taken seriously. While it’s laudable that Khan plays the righteous Samaritan, he doesn’t progress beyond the help-each-other-out phase. The gory action sequences are all orchestrated to highlight Khan’s buffed-up body and there’s one too many. The climax in which Khan’s shirt rips to show a gleaming, magnificent torso might make this journey less painful”.
