Mumbaid: This was unheard of. Prior to the beginning of the IPL no one had thought that cricketers, not even Tendulkars or Dhonis, can make so much money. But now sky seems to be the limit after what we witnessed today.

Yuvraj Singh who was not picked for the just concluded New Zealand tour that India lost 4-0, has come out as the biggest winner or beneficiary of this year’s Indian Premier League players’ auction. He pocketed as much as Rs 140 million alone. But others too didn’t do too poorly with Shikhar Dhawan also making as much as Rs 120 million during the auction of the players.

The auction for the seventh edition of IPL is continuing and the sort of interest it generated was unprecedented. The fact that Yuvraj Singh got so much money at so early stage of the auction further created interest among the cricket crazy nation like India.

To be true, the fact that players from all the nations were participating in the auction except Pakistan ensured that people in cricketing nations across the globe continue glued to their television sets to find out as to how hteir favorite players perform.
