iPhone 7 release date rumors: Ming-Chi Kuo says it will have DSLR imagery, other spec and features details
iPhone 7 is all set to be in the market in the next few weeks. There are reasons to believe that Cupertino based Apple is set to launch a new version of iPhone in the first or second week of September and that Apple will finally release the new handset within two weeks of being showcased.
Long term Apple watchers are sure that the company will launch a completely new handset that will see Apple iPhone sales go up substantially in the September quarter.
There are indications that the company has already indicated a definite release date as far as the new iPhone version is concerned. A report while quoting a leaked internal email from Vodafone claims that the newest version of iPhone is confirmed. The email reveals the newest handset will go on sale on September 25, with pre-orders being accepted from September 18. Nonetheless the latest memo from Vodafone that has been accessed by Mobile News, does not clarify the exact name of the model, called simply ‘the new iPhone’.
A report in the Wall Street Journal says that the Cupertino based tech giant has asked its suppliers to produce a record number of new models – between 85 million and 90 million compared to last year’s 70-80 million. This proves that Apple has high hopes from its handset.
There is no denying the fact that the new version will again give a huge spurt to demand for iPhone. Tech analysts are sure that queues snaking around Apple stores across the globe will again reappear in the next few days. Samsung bosses must be worried about the impact of new iPhone versions on Galaxy Note 5, the Sammy phablet that is yet to come out in the market.
In the meantime there seems to be more details doing the rounds about the specs of the new handset. Analysts see that we are going to see the “biggest camera jump everâ€, offering quality to rival a DSLR, according to blogger John Gruber. He said that we should expect “weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery.†On the other hand an Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities is of the view that the next iPhone camera will receive a welcome bump up to 12MP, with the front camera capable of recording 1080p video at 60fps, 240fps in slow motion mode and flash support.
On the other hand a report by the Barclays says that the iPhone 7 will come with a new near-field communication (NFC) NXP 66VP2 chip, up from the 65V10 used in the 6 and 6 Plus. Now there are reports that the new STMicro chip is likely for inclusion, which could be used for any function requiring data security.
