Now there seems to be more credibility in rumors of early iPad Mini 2 release date as Apple slashes prices of iPad mini and iPad 4. The price drop is substantial.
iPad Mini 2 release date rumors seem to have some merits right now as the Cupertino based Apple further slashes the prices of its top selling tablets iPad 4 and iPad Mini original. Both the tablets are still in great demand, but Apple, for the first time is preparing it to see a year on year drop in sales of iPad tablets. This is the first time ever that it has happened to Apple’s iPad, otherwise it always used to see a substantial increase in sales quarter after quarter and year after year. This seems to be the first time when it is seeing the demand for its iPhone 5 and iPad to fall and that too substantially.
In the meantime rumors about the impending launch of iPad Mini 2 have got further momentum in the market as the Cupertino based company further slashed the price of its two top selling tablets including iPad Mini and iPad 4. The price drop is substantial and in some top end tablets goes to as high as $150.
Now after the price drop, Apple tablets look a lot competitive in terms of price to their other market counterparts that are steadily eating into these pricey tablets from Apple. Now a 16-gigabyte iPad mini with Wi-Fi is available in the market at $279, after $50 price cut. In regular size iPad 4 case too price have dropped and a 16GB Wi-Fi model of iPad 4 is now available at $419. In high end tabs’ case the drop seems to be substantial. 64GB iPad mini with Wi-Fi plus cellular comes to $549. This is $110 less than what Apple charged earlier. On the other hand 64GB fourth-gen iPad with Wi-Fi plus cellular is available at $689.
In the meantime, the forthcoming iPad Mini 2 will be substantially better than the current version. Apple has faced severe criticism for the low quality of iPad’s retina display. The biggest criticism of the current iPad mini so far is centered around its relatively low 1,024 x 768 resolution. Critics from around the world have criticised Apple for not putting retina display in iPad Mini. Even much cheaper tablets including Google Nexus 7 come with far better display quality. Nexus 7 comes with 1280×800 resolution with 216 pixel per inch when compared to iPad Mini’s abysmal 163 pixel per inch.
The display quality is set to see a substantial upgrade in newer versions. The forthcoming iPad mini 2’s retina display is said to have a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels, doubling the current iPad mini’s 1,024 x 798 screen and packing more pixels than the iPad 4’s 264 ppi. Though there are no confirmation of this from Cupertino based Apple, nonetheless NPD DisplaySearch predicted a 2,048 x 1,536 pixel display which will have a pixel density over 300ppi, a lot better than the display quality of Apple’s main tablet iPad 4. So things are really looking exciting at the moment.
