They are great tablets, but are very pricey. Apple’s iPad Air, Retina iPad mini @ ₹28900 & ₹35900 may be beaten by 2nd gen Nexus 7, 10
iPad Air, Retina iPad mini will be facing tough competition from other Android tablets in the Indian market when it is launched. A 7.8 incher tablet from Cupertino based Apple will be getting better response in the Indian market when it is launched as the difference between iPad Air and iPad Min has blurred with the introduction of Apple’s famed retina display in the market recently.

The two have been the highest selling tablets in the US and European market, nonetheless the dynamics of the Indian markets are very different and there are chances that when launched later this week on December 7, the biggest tablet manufacture may not get the desired response in the market and certainly not as good as search giant Google’s Nexus 7 and its forthcoming tablet Nexus 10. Nonetheless Apple may still be able to sell substantial number of iPad Mini tablets and iPad Air.

But given the fact that Apple still launched its tablets around a month later than its launch in the US market it seems sure that India is still not on its priority radar. iPad Mini Retina is looking like very pricey at Rs 28900 for Wi-Fi only while Wi-Fi only version of iPad Air comes with Rs 35900 price tag.

Apple’s latest bigger tablet has been hogging limelight since its launch. It is so good that everyone is heaping praise on it. The device is built around Apple’s new A7 64-bit chipset and the much-touted M7 motion co-processor, both were introduced in the latest iPhone 5S. Adding to iOS 7, these specs are able to give superb power for the next edition iPad tablet. Other major overhaul with the new iPad is its cool and smart design. Based on iPad mini, it keeps narrower bezels i.e. 43 percent smaller, making the gadget highly friendly for handling. It is 20 percent thinner and touts a thickness as slim as 7.5mm, which makes it rather friendly than iPad 5. Also its weight is scaled down to 469g from 653g.
Its display is simply superb and has attracted praise and more praise. As far as display quality is concerned, Apple’s latest tab comes with the same display that came with its previous version. The same 9.7-inch IPS LCD screen with 1536 x 2048 pixels repeats with the new iPad Air as well. But, Touch ID rumors don’t pan out as Apple dropped it for the new iPad. Storage options, as usual, go up to 128GB starting from the basic 16GB. Like the new iPhone, it is available in sliver & white and space gray hues to tempt more young customers. From Nov. 1, Apple iPad Air will be available for a price tag starting at $499. Of course, you can get the tablet in both Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi 4G LTE cellular models. Once hit in stores, the new iPad Air can really be a strong opponent to all leading Android tablets there, including Google Nexus 10, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and more.

On the other hand the smaller tablet that has got a boost with Retina display is also expected to do well here. Retina display was on the mind of every iPad Mini lover and finally Apple has brought the tab with it. The small iPad also gets a second upgrade after long rumors and gossips. Proving all speculations about its Retina display as true, the new iPad Mini 2 has the landmark Apple display screen with quadrupled resolution to 1536 x 2048 pixels at a two times better pixel density of 324ppi. Also Apple has composed innards of new iPad mini with the same A7 chipset. Sure, the last year original iPad mini was blamed hugely for its lagging in display resolution as well as processor power. Apple has deliberately worked out to resolve these two issues, thus slotting in the much-wanted Retina tech, and the brand new A7 chipset inside a rather better ARMv8-based Cyclone cores processor. The graphics card inside the device is a PowerVR SGX 6th series and the M7 motion co-processor is also there.
The new smaller tablet namely iPad Mini Retina has got mammoth response in the market, though there are supply concerns. The device sports a regular Home button Moreover, the new iPad mini is 7.5mm thick and a little bit heavy at 331g. As you can guess it out, iPad mini 2 also runs iOS 7 out of the box and its storage option is also expanded up to 128GB, starting from 16GB. Various color options are available for iPad mini 2 as well. You can buy it in colors like silver & white and space grey & black. So things are looking very exciting at the moment.
