More features of the next generation Apple tablet are coming into focus. iPad 5 will reportedly come with wireless charging. Its release date is expected in April

Though right now, the whole world seems to be talking about only one thing, Samsung’s just showcased next flagship handset Galaxy S4, but there are millions and millions of people across the world who are also awaiting the launch of other gadgets. And very high on people’s wish list is Apple’s next generation tablet iPad 5. Apple iPad fans are awaiting its launch because of the fact that the present tablet is almost the replica of the iPad 3 with just cosmetic changes. With people becoming more and more demanding, they want the next upgrade to be substantially different from existing versions and cosmetic changes no longer make them happy.

Be it Apple, Samsung, HTC or even Google, people cannot reconcile themselves to getting a carbon copy of the existing product with nominal changes and pay a premium for actually the same product that they already owned. This was the reason that response to Apple’s iPad 4 was very disappointing and ever since its market launch, Apple’s stocks have marched in just one direction, southward. Apple in order to make its accessories useful for iPad users hurried to launch a version of iPad that didn’t actually offered anything new to quality conscious iPad users.

Meanwhile there are reports that Apple has filed a new patent application that indicates that the Cupertino based tech giant is all set to offer wireless charging, allowing an inductive Smart Cover with an in-built battery to charge the iPad. A report while talking in detail about the patent filing suggests that “patent talks about the possibility of using inductive charging to transfer power to an iOS device. While the components, required for this technology, generally include an induction coil and transformer to output power through a cord that is plugged into the device’s dock connector, Apple’s patent explains a different way by bringing in the iPad Cover into the scene”.

Apple while filing for the new patent says, “In the described embodiments, the body portion includes an inductive power transmitter arranged to wirelessly pass power to a corresponding inductive power receiver unit disposed within the tablet device by inductively coupling, at least a first magnetic element, and at least a second magnetic element used to secure the body portion to the display in a closed configuration”. But to be true, the wireless charging has become so much prevalent that it doesn’t even evokes amazement from common users. Many Android devices are already offering wireless charging on their devices, but it is going to be a novelty for Apple fans. Apple is following the trend now, roles have obviously changed in the tech market now.
