India’s one of the leading telecom service provider Idea Cellular, is all set to change your life, making it even more exciting, with it’s recently unveiled 3G Android smartphone called the Whiz.

Priced at a pocket friendly cost of Rs. 7850, the Idea Whiz is a dream come true for all those smart phone aspirants who were looking for the Smartphone experience at an affordable cost. A dual-SIM Android phone (GSM + GSM), a high demand in the Indian market, runs on v4.0 ICS and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. At present the device would be available in tow color options including black and white.

The Idea Whiz sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. Also, the phone claims to offer faster internet browsing, email updates, games and smart applications and widgets, with 4GB internal memory (1.5GB user available) and 512MB of RAM. To help the users take memorable photographs, the handset comes with a 5MP rear camera and a VGA secondary camera.

Having varied connectivity options, the Idea Whiz supports EDGE, GPRS, WLAN, USB 2.0, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and 3G. With claims provide a talk time up to 12.5 hours on 2G while 8.5 on 3 G, the Smartphone, comes with a 1500 mAh battery.

However, the real steal deal has been provided in the form of the bundled plans devised for both prepaid and post-paid customers of its Whiz Smartphone. The company is offering free 3G data and Idea TV subscriptions for the first three months. For prepaid customers, Idea offers a Rs 259/Rs. 261 recharge option, which includes 1.6 GB per month for 3 months on 3G, unlimited data on 2G for first 3 months, and Idea TV Rs. 150 pack per month free of charge for 3 months.

At present Idea’s 3G offer are only available in selected stated including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerela, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (W) and Uttar Pradesh (E) circles. 2G offers are available in North East and Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, Kolkata, West Bengal, Mumbai, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

The company is relying heavily on the 3G offerings. Recently Idea had launched Aurus 2 in the same category at Rs.6,490. In the past too, the network service provider had launched five 3G smartphones-Idea Zeal, Idea Ivory, Idea Aurus, ID 918 and Idea Blade- all in sub-Rs 8,000 category. The company claimed good response from these launches. Idea has said that has already sold over 300,000 3G smartphones over the last one year.
