The ICC T20 World Cup might have begun a few days ago, but the real tournament begins today. So far either minnows were trying to enter the main draw or the top teams were playing friendly, inconsequential matches.

And the beginning couldn’t have been better. Two top of the line cricket teams are going to fight it out in an important match of the tournament being held in Nagpur. Both the teams have been winning and are expected to be among the best performers in the whole tournament.

The frenzy surrounding the tournament can be gauged by the fact that Google has released an exciting doodle to commemorate the beginning of the tournament. Cricket being the most loved game in the sub continent, enthusiasm in the streets too is exceptionally high.

virat kohliDespite so much cricket being played, there is no dearth of the cricket fans who are willing to watch their favorite teams playing. To be true, even the games involving minnows, the stadiums have bee jam-packed

There is no denying the fact that the Indian team couldn’t have looked in a better shape. India comes into the match with a head of steam, including 10 wins in their last 11 matches. That stretch included a win in the 2016 Asia Cup, defeating some of the best teams in the cricket world. Now they will face some of those teams in the ICC T20 Tournament. The match is set to start at 7:30 p.m. local time (2 p.m. GMT) on Tuesday from Nagpur, with both teams looking to start off their campaigns with a win.

While talking about the match today New Zealand captain Kane Williamson says, “I suppose whatever build-up that you have, it doesn’t promise success. I think in the international game, it is important that you get your head around changing formats consistently.”

On the other hand the top Indian batsman Virat Kohli while talking about his younger teammates says, “They have not paid that much attention to who is in the opposition, who I am bowling to or batting against. They have backed their skills, which they also do in the IPL, and that has been an X-factor for our team in the last few series.”
