Huawei Ascend P1 S: Will it beat Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Nexus?

Chinese tech giant Huawei has launched its Ascend P1 S, the thinnest smart phone. Many wonder if it will beat Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Nexus

Huawei is in the news. It has released a smart phone that is the thinnest smartphone ever launched across the world. The new smart phone is named as Ascend P1 S.

Not many people outside China would have even heard the company’s name. But going by specs, the smart phone not just looks very smart but, also a winner even when comparing against the best in the market.

So, have the Chinese smart phone manufacturers announced their arrival at the world scene? It seems so. They have been supplying components to top smart phone manufacturers across the world, but this is the first true world class smart phone that has come out of Chinese hands. And man, everyone seems to be loving it.

Huawei’s smart phone is the thinnest ever smart phone with a density of just 6.68 mm (0.26 inches). It is an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phone and boasts a PPVD back cover meant to dissipate heat. The Huawei Ascend P1 S has a thicker sibling, the P1.

Huawei’s Ascend Android phone comes with a rather big 4.3-inch 960 x 540 pixel Super AMOLED touchscreen. It is powered by 1.5 GHz dual core TI OMAP 4460 Cortex A9 processors, 4GB of built-in memory and 1GB of RAM. You shouldn’t be disappointed with merely 4GB built in memory. It also has a microSD card slot for extra storage, that should suffice your needs.

The list of great specs doesn’t end here. The smart phone comes loaded with 8 megapixel rear cameras with the backlight illuminated sensor. The devices can capture video at 1080p Full HD. It also has a front facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chatting.

The best thing is the fact that we will not have to wait for the smart phone for very long. It should be in our hands as early as April this year.
