Khloe Kardashian on Lamar Odom: From death bed to revival
When Lamar Odom was brought to a Las Vegas hospital, not many said he will survive. The most positive doctors said that he had fifty/fifty chance. Nonetheless in just a week he is not just awake and talking, he is also progressing pretty fast.
Drug overdose patients’ chances of survival are slim, more so when the quantity of the medicine taken is huge. And that was the case when Lamar Odom was brought to the hospital, comatose and barely breathing.
Many said that he was going to remain on life support for months, while others said that he may not be able to come out of coma, the same way Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown never came out of it. But apparently Lamar Odom’s case was not that much hopeless.
In the meantime more details are coming out about the former NBA star. Harrick, who coached Odom in college, appeared Monday on CNN’s “New Day.” He said that the 35-year-old athlete has made “a little bit of progress.” Eight days ago, Lamar Odom was hospitalized after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch, a brothel in Nevada where he had been holed up for several days.
Before Lamar Odom was flown to a Los Angeles hospital, his maternal aunt, JaNean Mercer in a statement said, “Lamar has always been blessed with a tenacious, fighting spirit, overcoming insurmountable obstacles to achieve the impossible. These past few days have been no different…defying the odds in his toughest battle to date” with “God’s grace…We are committed to remaining by his side as a family for our champion, who we love immensely.â€
Though he may have to undergo rehab for months, his condition has fairly improved. A TMZ report says, “Odom is flying back to L.A., accompanied by Khloe Kardashian. As we reported, Khloe has vowed to be by Lamar’s side throughout his rehab, which will take months…Our sources say Lamar has numerous unresolved medical issues. We believe he will be admitted to an L.A. area medical facility for further treatment…Odom is expected to survive, but doctors have cautioned his family there will be some permanent damage, though the extent is unclearâ€.
