Hope Solo impresses in U.S. vs Australia match in FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 soccer

US women’s team won a hard fought battle against Australia in Women’s World Cup 2015 soccer. It was a match that could have gone either way and despite emerging winner 3-1, the Team US was not impressive at all. They are the second best ranked team in the women soccer in the world, but looked rather unimpressive.

The team would have suffered badly save for the impressive performance of its goalkeeper Hope Solo. While the team USA is being criticized for not playing up to its potential, almost everyone is full of praise for Hope Solo. Analysts are claiming that if the US team improves its game and Hope Solo does as well as she did the other day, no one can stop the USA from owning the FIFA Women’s Soccer World Cup 2015.

There is no denying the fact that playing in such a great fashion and giving the best in the opening match of the team USA, despite reports about her domestic violence case stemming from a June 2014 incident, is nothing short of marvelous.soccer world cup women team USA

There is no denying the fact that the Solo’s performance will be counted among the best and very inspiring in coming days. She let her play do the talking on Monday in a 3-1 win over Australia by making two world-class saves in the first 13 minutes, one which kept Australia from going ahead and one which prevented the Matildas from pulling level within seconds of Megan Rapinoe’s opening goal.

After her impressive performance and the win she said, “I was mentally prepared for a tough first half…Historically it takes us some time to get our feet under us and really getting rolling and to kind of find our groove. There’s going to be jitters. We have young players. Even without young players, we tend to take some time to find our groove. I expected that. I expected to weather the storm and eventually play a little bit more comfortable in the second half.”
