Himachal to strictly enforce environmental laws in developmental projects


    New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh govt  will  strictly enforce the forest conservations act and environmental laws for various hydel electric and developmental projects being commissioned in the state said  Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal in a meeting with union environmental and forest minister Jai Ram Ramesh in Pryavaran Bhawan New Delhi today. He told that state govt has taken utmost care while implementing eco tourism projects in the state and added that no new structures or construction has been carried out in the forest areas under various eco tourism projects . He said that state govt will send a detailed report in this connection to the central govt soon . He explained in details about the status of various projects which are pending for environmental clearance with the union govt and pleaded for early environmental clearances so as the  economy activity is speeded up in the state. Union minister for environment and forest Jai Ram Ramesh asked the state govt to  supply the additional informations about these projects so as their clearances could be provided. He took positive note of the state govt projects and assured that central govt will  provide all necessary help and assistance to the state govt for developing  the state as model hill state in environmental protection.
