Hillary Clinton for President 2016: Why email saga may impact her chances
Will Hillary Clinton bag the Democratic nomination to fight someone from Republican Party for the US Presidential elections 2016? She has been looking like front-runner following her bid to bag the Democrat nomination. But things are changing rather fast.
Her aura of invincibility is coming down as Donald Trump is galloping ahead to become frontrunner for the US President. But he is not the sole challenge for the former secretary of state and the First Lady.
There are some stiff challenges emerging from within the Democrats too and one person who must be on top of her mind is Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
Initially he was not being taken seriously. But then the sort of crowd he started pulling in almost every rally seems to have made him a major threat to Hillary Clinton. Tens of thousands of people attending his rallies are no rarity. Instead in almost every other meet he gets huge crowds. Some of his meets have drawn more than 25000 people, and that too so early in the primaries.
In the meantime, she also faces more challenges. Hillary Clinton’s emails from her time as Secretary of State continue to haunt her and may make things all the more difficult for her.
United States’ State Department has released the biggest bundle of recovered messages till date that run into around 7,000 pages. The latest bundle actually includes some 150 emails that were previously marked as classified.
Though the former Secretary of State, Ms Clinton, continues to claim that her use of a private email server was not a problem, and that messages were classified later, not at the time they were originally sent. In one of the recently released emails Hillary Clinton is actually asking her adviser Huma Abedin to teach her how to use a new iPad. It is needless to say that she has mastered using the tablet now.
