It is set to rule the market in the coming days and weeks. ‘Gunday’ box office collection to beat Salman Khan’s Jai Ho: Report

After Jai Ho not so grand beginning in 2014 now all attention has been shifted on Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial venture Gunday. If go by what market analysts are saying then this film is on its way to make it big this year. With a strong occupancy in theatres, this movie has all the ingredients to become top opening day grosser of the year.

Since being unveiled, the film— produced under the Yash Raj banner— is attracting tones of movie buffs who are lining outside halls across the country to have a glimpse of Gunday. The film got the added advantage of being released on Valentine’s Day eve. And the response till now has been overwhelming.  The film’s earnings have been boosted by youngsters who were seen flocking theatres everywhere in India due to Valentine’s Day. Not a romantic movie, it has received phenomenal response.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said: “The start has been super not just at single screens but also at multiplexes, which have caught a section of the industry by surprise, since masala films, generally, don’t open too well at plexes.” Child artistes Darshan Gurjar and Jayesh V. Kardak also showcase their acting talent in the movie.

According to analysts, if the movie continues to attract audiences like this it may very soon surpass Jai Ho. However, it would be unwise to jump to any conclusion. To become the biggest grossers of the year, the movie has to go on like this for many days.
