The search giant has a habit of always taking you by surprise. And this surprise element always keeps you in awe of the search giant.
Now the company has come out with a new Chrome extension that may change the way you share URLs. The new extension Google Tone lets you share a page URL with other devices within earshot. So no need to type the lengthy URLs.
There is no denying the fact that the world could have lived even without the new Chrome extension as there are numerous ways that allow you to share URLs with people over vast distances. Nonetheless if someone was sitting just next to you and you wanted to share some URL if they can’t move to look at your pc, has somehow become more complicated.
Now with Google Tone you just need to click the Tone button embedded in your browser and Chrome will emit a particular sound that will share the current URL with any devices within listening range. And it works just like human hearing, with an inabililty to communicate through walls, vast distances, and doesn’t require bluetooth pairing or wifi connectivity.
But the devices with whom you want to share the URL must have Google Tone installed. When you send the URL, they’ll get a notification with your login name and a new tab will open with the link when they click it. The Google Research blog for the extension claims that it was a joke but then they started taking it seriously.
