Google Nexus 5 (2015) will be made by LG and not Huawei
Google Nexus 5’s 2015 version is in the making. A latest report in the Tech Radar claims that the search giant Google is working on new version of Nexus 5. This finally kills earlier reports that the search giant will not launch its own handsets and that it is discontinuing dabbling in actual products in smartphone segment where it was expected to limit itself to software side.
The report says that Mountain View based tech giant is again going with the Korean smartphone maker LG. Their association is rather old now and the company seems to have selected it as a long-term partner for product manufacture.
The Korean tech giant has built a couple of smartphones and tablets for Google. It was the same company that manufactured its Nexus 5. Nonetheless there are rumors that Google may also be associating with Chinese tech giant and one of the biggest smartphone makers in China, Huawei, for the next Nexus smartphone.
In the meantime the same Tech Radar report says the 2015 version will be made from scratch. “We’ve also heard that Google could be planning on releasing two new Nexus phones this year, while another rumour suggested that Huawei would be building a larger Nexus device (though possibly not quite as big as the Nexus 6 phablet), with LG creating a smaller Nexus handset that could have the codename LG Angler†says the report.
