This should be a good development for this smart handset. Google Nexus 4 is set to be available on T-Mobile in USA, though supply remains an issue
Shortage of supply has been a point of criticism against the Nexus 4. In spite of its release with huge fanfare, LG and Google failed to deliver it to all customers, who booked for the device. It has, according to reports, decreased the reputation of the handset to an extent. Well, adding further bitter to the condition, some guys over at XDA developers have exposed that only 400,000 Nexus 4 are around in market at the moment.
That is, Google has only sold 400,000 units of its fourth generation Nexus phone since its release in Nov. 2012. The hackers have leaked the details using IMEI number on Nexus 4 phones and LG’s mobile site. It is confusing why LG has failed to produce more units of this nice phone irrespective of huge demand. Google has recently apologized to the waiting customers citing some manufacturer-related delays as reason for the unavailability of the handset.
The new Nexus phone went a bit crazy in market soon after its release. It was sold out in less than half an hour after its release in November. The second bunch of the handset was sold out in 24 hours. Of now, the device is shown as unavailable on Google Play in all major markets. Indeed, it is here Google has made an apology to the fans of the phone. Hopefully, it will come to market with more units sooner.
Google Nexus 4
It is the latest upgrade to Google’s Android signature phone. It premiered a new update to the latest Android Jelly Bean. It is the version 4.2. For LG, it is the first Nexus phone. The second and third generations of the phones were made by its native rival Samsung and the original one was from HTC. LG has managed to design the phone superbly well with great specs, larger display and more. Here is a look into its major features.
The LG-made Nexus phone sports a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus capacitive touchscreen that packs a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels at 318-ppi. The multitouch screen is resistant of scratches thanks to Corning’s Gorilla Glass 2 layering. Under the hood, the phone mounts a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 320 graphical processor.
One major specialty of the device is low pricing, which is made possible through the reduction of internal memory. The device comes only in 8GB and 16GB models. That is why they are available for prices around $300 SIM free. It is an amazing pricing when compared with the prices of its quad core alternatives in market. The handset has a standard 8MP rear camera with advanced features like autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, geo-tagging and more. Of course, it can shoot video at 1080p@30fps.
Well, as noted above, the handset runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but it is upgradeable to Android 4.2.1. Thanks to the new Android version, you can enjoy brilliant features like multiple accounts, enhanced Google Now and a new interface. For connectivity, the Nexus 4 has basic options like GPRS, EDGE, DC-HSDPA, HSDPA and HSUPA. It has Wi-Fi, dual band, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth and NFC.
Nexus 4 was expected to take on the leading Android phones in market. Of course, as far as its specs are considered, it is powerful enough to lift severe challenge to Galaxy S3, HTC One X and more. But, failed supply chain has caused disarray and people are largely waiting for this machine. It is not known what has led to the supply shortage of the device.
