Google Nexus 4 preorder available in India for Rs 25,990: $100 costlier than US

Google Nexus 4 preorder is available in India for Rs 25,990. But it is $100 costlier in India compared to its price in the US

Google Nexus 4 has finally arrived in the Indian market. But I am sure many people wouldn’t be too happy as the handset has been priced rather too high compared to its regular price in the US. The handset is priced at Rs 25990. This is around $100 costlier than its price in the US and so the disappointment.

But to be true, this is the only thing that may be disappointing for users in the country. Otherwise, the handset is among the best and competes well with market leaders. It comes with almost better specifications that Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and it is still substantially lower priced than Galaxy S3 and other handsets in the range. Samsung’s Galaxy S3 is still priced at Rs 33000 despite the fact that its new version Galaxy S4 is already available in the market.

To begin with in India, the handset will come in just 16 GB version. There will be no 32 GB version and it is being sold for Rs 25,990 on an online retailer’s site.

To be true, Galaxy Nexus 4 is a diversion of LG’s Optimus G. It shares too many specs and features of the high-end Android phone from LG. The Google handset has a large 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus capacitive touchscreen. It packs a good resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels at 318-ppi. LG has made the multitouch display of the device highly perfect to make it fight with the rivals like Samsung Galaxy S III. The display gets anti-scratch protection thanks to Corning’s new Gorilla Glass 2.

When it comes to processor, it is equipped with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon quad core processor, 2GB RAM and Adreno 320 GPU. The handset comes up in two basic memory versions; 8GB and 16GB. It is a move from LG and Google to price the device lower. Of course, it seems to have worked well. In a time of great cloud storage services there is no need for large internet memory onboard a phone.

Google seems to be preparing the launch of Nexus 5. But its previous version comes with standard 8MP camera with features like autofocus, LED flash, check quality, geo-tagging and face detection. You can use the camera to take video at 1080p@30fps. There is a 1.3MP front camera for letting you make video chats. The device puts forward all essential connectivity options. You can use GPRS, EDGE, DC-HSDPA, HSDPA and HSUPA for on-the-go network connection. The device also offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB as advanced connectivity options.
