Golden State Warriors beat Cavs: Game 5 of NBA Finals scores, who won the game 5 last night
It was another great show by Golden State Warriors. They seem to be getting their winning touch again and with this 104-91 comprehensive win over Cleveland Cavaliers they have taken a huge lead. And the man who scripted the success was none other than MVPÂ Stephen Curry. He mesmerized the crowd so much they they became breathless with the MVP’s superlative show last night.
He not just dented the good show by LeBron James, but gave his side an edge that Cavs couldn’t upset till the end. His contribution in last night’s result can be gauged from the fact that he made seven 3-pointers and scored 37 points. Following the victory he said, “It was a fun moment, but it will only mean something — and I’ll probably have a better [answer] for that question after we win that championship — but signature moments only come for players who are holding the trophy”.
Golden State Warriors are going to take on Cleveland Cavaliers in the fifth match of the NBA Finals 2015. The Game 5 has become extremely important for both the sides after the two teams have won two matches each. Had a team taken a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals till now, the taste and the enthusiasm in the tournament would have gone by now.
Cavaliers are not playing with their full strength. To be true, they are playing sans their top two players and we must commend how well they have been doing in the absence of their top players. Many people may claim that it is miraculous performance of LeBron James on whose strength the team was able to win both the matches. But this assumption is wrong. At such high level of the game you need a great team performance without which you cannot beat a team like Golden State Warriors, arguably the best side at the moment.
Both the teams had played a very close game on the same field very recently. The last time these two teams faced each other Oakland, the Cavaliers won the match 95-93. That was in Game 2 when LeBron James scored 39 points. It is notable that home court has not proved to be of much advantage in this finals, as the home team is an even 2-2 after four games of play.
Though many people were worried, nonetheless, the Warriors won the Game 4 to tie the series, and they are now in a good position to take a 3-2 series lead. Stephen Curry has failed to play like the MVP we saw in the regular season and it is mainly because of Matthew Dellavedova’s defense. Klay Thompson also needs to o step up his performance. Steve Kerr took a god decision as the coach in Game 4 by starting Andre Iguodala. Iguodala has been the most consistent player on the Warrior roster this series.
