Probably it is the best deal today. You can get $50 off on Kindle Fire HD 8.9 on Amazon today if you use code ‘FIREHD89”

Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch is among the best tablets available in the market right now. And if you were searching a reason to go for this tab, you better go for it as the biggest online retailer Amazon is offering this very useful and impressive tablet with $50 discount.

But to be true, the deal and the discount is valid for only today and if you miss it now you may well have to wait for few weeks or months before Amazon decides to slash the price. Though many people will say that Amazon is offering the $50 discount as the tablet is not doing very well in the market, but that may not seem to be true.

Kindle Fire HD is among the best tablets available in the market right now and competes well against top tabs available in the market. It competes well against Cupertino based Apple’s tablets including iPad 4 and iPad Mini besides of course Google Nexus 10. With Amazon’s great add-ons, Kindle Fire HD is a very useful tablet for anyone going for a tab.

At $249 Amazon Kindle Fire HD is the best tablet in its price range. The 16 GB version with special offers makes the deal all the more enticing and I am sure many people will use the opportunity to go and grab one. If you want to get the discount you will have to use a code ‘FIREHD89” at checkout on Amazon for all 8.9-inch Fire HD versions.

To be true, 8.9 inch Kindle Fire HD though is just 0.8 inch shy of the iPad’s 9.7 inch. Jeff Bezos had earlier boasted that the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch was the “best tablet at any price point”. Amazon’s devices are known for  their excellent offerings, not for their hardware design, or even for  their software. That said they have made a significant leap on the hardware front from the earlier Kindle Fire. The design of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inches is quite similar to the Kindle Fire HD 7, and though it does not have the pizzaz of an iPad or even the elan of a Nexus, it is a handsome tablet.

The tab is very good when it comes to its grips. The rubberized back is eminently grippable, and it is lighter and thinner that even the iPad. Its pixel count is slightly lower than the iPad’s Retina display, but not by much. It has a 254ppi as against the iPad’s 264ppi. Of course the Nexus 10 takes the cake in this regard with 300ppi. But if you were to place the 3 tablets side by side you would be hard put to make out the difference in their screen resolutions. That only brings home the point that after a certain level ppi don’t matter. Our eyes just can’t make out the difference. Kindle Fire HD has a powerful dual-core 1.5GHz OMAP 4470 processor underneath the hood to keep all those pixels flowing smoothly. Apps load faster than earlier, but it is not quite as smooth as the Nexus, and certainly behind the iPad.

The greatest thing about the tablet is of course Amazon’s content offerings. The tablet really makes it easy to get to Amazon’s offerings. The second greatest point? It tablet comes for just $299, which makes it the cheapest fully featured tablet on the market.
