College Football Playoffs update: Florida beatAlabama in an exciting match,  full highlights

Alabama vs Florida was going to be a very enticing match and fans of both the teams were expecting firefights from their respective sides. And to be true the same happened. Though Alabama won the fight of nerves, Florida too won the hearts of its fans and its detractors too with their impressive game.

There is no denying the fact that College Football Playoffs seem to be very exciting and people expect the best of the best performance at such high level of competition.

Though till the end Florida seemed to be in the sniffing distance of victory, it remained elusive and Alabama finally won after a hard fought match. Florida got inside Alabama’s 30-yard line with two big passing plays — a 46-yard completion from quarterback Treon Harris to wide receiver Antonio Callaway that was followed by Harris finding tight end Jake McGee open over the middle for 18 yards at the Tide football playoff

But the effort didn’t pay off due to the blocked field goal, the Gators gained a solid 83 yards in the first quarter against Alabama’s defense, including 69 on that third possession.

Despite all their efforts the Gators only gained three yards against Alabama’s defense during the second and third quarters combined. Later Florida went three-and-out on its first two possessions of the fourth quarter before mounting a touchdown drive midway through the quarter after the Tide had built a 29-7 lead.

The Gators’ offense had struggled in Florida’s previous five games. It got completely shut down by Alabama’s defense Saturday aside from that one drive during the first quarter and the touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter.

After the match Tide defensive lineman Jonathan Allen said “I really feel it was our preparation…We did a good job preparing. We had a really good week of practice, and I feel like that carried over to the game.”

Nonetheless Florida’s quarterback, Harris said, “They’re not hard to figure out what they are doing…Their up front guys are very physical and strong. The scheme they run just works for those guys…Alabama doesn’t have [defensive backs] like [LSU]”.
