First look: Asus PadFone Mini smartphone-tablet hybrid @Rs16k. This may get good response due to its right pricing

I am not sure if Indian smartphone or tablet mavens are going to like it, nonetheless it seems a great proposition. The newly introduced Asus PadFone mini, a smartphone and tablet hybrid seems to be a great product on paper and in reality too, but somehow or the other similar products from the company have failed to become the sort of success that a general tablet or smartphone becomes many a times instantly after launch.

But the new hybrid PadFone from the Taiwanese tech giant looks impressive. Besides both the products are good on paper and so far have got good reviews from almost every tech magazine. But this has been the case with almost every Asus product. Its handsets are often good, to the point of impossibility (this used to be the case a few years ago), but somehow this ‘goodness’ doesn’t translate into sales.

The company’s PadFone mini (PF400CG) is now available in the Indian market at very attractive price. If you want to lay your hand on this hybrid tablet and smartphone then wait for a while as Flipkar will start the sale soon. Priced at Rs 15,999, the PadFone mini comes loaded with many features. The most striking are a 4-inch (800×480 pixels) display. The good thing about this is that it can dock into a 7-inch tablet with a (1280×800 pixels) display.

Other specifications and features too look attractive, without an iota of doubt. The hybrid tablet smartphone/ tablet seems to be power packed. Not only this but the make company has made sure to power the PadFone mini by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom (Z2560) dual-core processor, paired with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The internal storage stands at 8GB. And if you want to get extra memory you have the facility to expand it up to 64GB using a microSD card. On picture front also it is well equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Above all it comes equipped with a 1,170mAh battery in the phone, and a 2,100mAh battery in the tablet.

Asus PadFone mini India price looks rather very right. many handsets and tablets with similar specs come at this price individually.
