Helsinki, Sep 7 (IANS) Nordic carrier Finnair Friday reported a 3.9 percent rise in its passenger load factor in August which stood at 80.8 percent as the airline saw an increase in European traffic.
“In August, we saw strong demand in all traffic areas. European traffic growth of over eleven percent was especially pleasing,” said Erno Hilden, chief financial officer, Finnair.
“Leisure traffic also grew significantly from last year, mainly as a result of growth in flight capacity sold to major tour operators,” Hilden added.
The airline’s traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometres rose 9.9 percent as the overall capacity grew by 4.6 percent on a year-on-year basis.
