Things have started moving rather very smoothly. FIFA World Cup 2014 tickets price announced, students to pay$20. Meanwhile tickets sale date begins Aug 20

Finally FIFA has set the ball rolling for the World Cup 2014 set to be held in Brazil. The world’s main soccer body has finally announced the ticket rates for World Cup 2014 and there seems to be a mad rush of the ticket seekers in almost every part of the world. Brazil is going to get a huge spurt in the number of tourists next year thanks to the great interest the game of soccer gets in every part of the world.

For many people going to watch a Soccer World Cup match is really a sort of dream and millions of people will try their luck to go and see the match in person. The interest is soccer is so high that in the just concluded Federations Cup 2013, an inconsequential match between Tahiti and Uruguay there were more than twenty thousand spectators. So if the interest in an inconsequential game of a small tournament can garner so much interest, just imagine the mad rush that will be visible during world cup matches. Matches between top world soccer teams like Germany, Holland, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Uruguay and other top teams will get the biggest interest from people.

The rate card for the tickets is out and we know that the cheapest ticket will come for $90. It might be nothing less than a dream come true for the Fifa fans staying outside Brazil. For the World Cup matches to be held in the country beginning summers, the federation has earmarked the sporting event’s cheapest tickets for its overseas fans at US$90 (£59).  The student community, citizens above 60 years of age and those on welfare would also be benefitted from the slashed rates of the tickets, the sale of which begins August 20. The cheapest ticket for these categories has been priced at $15 (£10). Also, the federation has slashed the rates for the final match’s ticket with the cheapest one standing at $440 (£288) and the most expensive at $990 (£650).

There is no doubt that the prices for World Cup 2014 final look very costly but there will be no one questioning the pricing. The Federation was forced to take the decision in wake of series of violent protests that have been taking place in Brazil, considered to be the Mecca of football and a home to the widely watched football World Cup. The locals are lodging demonstrations to protests against the cost to the public purse in wake of staging the tournament. The impact of the protests is such that the Fifa president, Sepp Blatter was forced to admit that Brazil might have been the wrong choice as hosts of the World Cup. “If this happens again, we have to question whether we made the wrong decision awarding the hosting rights,” said the President.

On the other hand there are reports that there are some special discounts for locals. The local fans would be able to procure the cheapest non-discounted ticket at £20 for a group match and £588 for a category one seat at the final. In fact the prices for the locals are quite similar to the ones that were charged from the local fans in South Africa during the 2010 World Cup.

In the meantime if you want to purchase the tickets, you will have to wait till Aug. 20 when FIFA will start selling the tickets on fifa.com. The first sales phase ends Oct. 10, and a random draw will allocate seats for oversubscribed matches. So things are looking like moving for the soccer extravaganza for the next year.
