The England vs South Africa first semi final match of ICC Champions Trophy 2013 has begun on a disastrous note for the Protease. After winning the toss England asked South Africa to bat and decided to field first. And Alaister Cook’s decision seemed to be great from the very first over of the match.

Only three overs have been bowled by England so far, but the disaster has stricken the South African team. In such an important match they have already lost their opening batsmen, including Hashim Amla. To be true, a number of cricket fans who had come here at Oval, came here to see the heroics of the South African star batsman Hashim Amla. But he was the second wicket. The first wicket was that of CA Ingram who was bowled out by Anderson even without scoring a single run. No one saw this coming and so the South African fans were silenced and completely taken aback.

If the first wicket of Ingram fell in the first over, the second over saw the departure of the best South African batsmen on who hinged the hopes of millions of his team’s fans. Amla scored only a single run before being sent back by Steven Finn. So at the second over the Africans had lost two wickets and there score was just 2 runs.

Meanwhile England are looking a lot confident compared to the South Africans. They have played better than them and are playing exceptionally well till now. England have some great tailenders who are capable to finish things in style. Bopara has always performed well whenever his team needed him and in the last match he really came up with superb performance. Such performances from South African batsmen are not really expected. Any win for the team must come due to their top order and whenever they flop, the team cannot simply regroup and come out on top. So things are really very exciting and if South African players including Faf du Plessis and Robin Peterson   who are at the crease right now are able to score some runs, it will be a good contest. After 5 overs SA score is 16 runs for the loss of two wickets.
