Chandigarh : UT Administration has floated a employee friendly special housing scheme for different categories of regular employees of UT Administration, its Boards and Corporations and those who are on deputation with the Chandigarh Administration and employees of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh Housing Board would implement the scheme. All regular UT and Punjab and Haryana High Court employees on the date of commencement of the scheme would be eligible to participate.

The scheme would be open from January 14 to February 29. The complete brochure and application form would be available on the website www.chb.co.in from January 14 and would be downloaded free of cost or may also be purchased from the reception of Chandigarh Housing Board on payment of Rs.200 in cash.

Initially, the allotment will be on lease hold basis and the allottees would not be allowed to dispose off/part away/transfer the possession before 5 years. After wards, the dwelling unit could be converted to freehold after paying the conversion charges.

Ground floor of 3 bedroom Flats will be available for Rs. 34.7 laks and other floors will be sold at 24.8 laks. Interested officers will have to pay Rs. 1.75 laks as earnest money.

Ground Floor and other floors of Two Bedroom Flat will be available for Rs. 24.3 laks and Rs. 17.36 laks respectively. Rs. 1.22 laks will be the earnest money for the same. Ground Floor and other floors of one Bedroom Flat will be available for Rs.

13.53 laks and Rs. 10.96 laks respectively. Rs. 70,000 will be the earnest money for it. One room Flats will be available for Rs. 5.76 laks with earnest money as Rs. 30,000.

UT Home Secretary, Mr. Krishna Mohan said that Chandigarh Administration has always formed employee’s friendly policies and this scheme is another milestone in this direction. He said that the scheme will prove to be a boon for the hard working employees, who could not own their own house in Chandigarh and hoped that the scheme will be able to ease the housing problems of the UT employees. Application duly completed could be deposited in any of the branch of Axis Bank situated at Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.
