Emma Watson book club reading is serious affair, takes one year hiatus from acting

The British actor who rode to fame as a child actor in the famed Harry Potter series of films is among top Hollywood actresses. She says that she wants to focus on activism and reading.

The actress who fronts high-profile fashion campaigns, made as much as $30m in the year 2010 at the age of 19. The star, who came 14th in the overall list, beat actress Cameron Diaz, the only other woman in the top 20.
The UN goodwill ambassador, known for her HeForShe initiative, says she wants to read books and study about feminism, a topic that she has been vocal about, reports aceshowbiz.com. “I’m taking a year away from acting to focus on two things, really. My own personal development is one,” Watson was quoted as saying by Paper magazine.
She went on to add, “My own personal task is to read one book a week, and also to read a book a month as part of my book club. I’m doing a huge amount of reading and study just on my own”. The 25-year-old said she wants to “listen to as many different women in the world as I can”. “That’s something that I’ve been doing on my own, through the UN, the HeForShe campaign, and my work generally,” she said.
